The Municipality of Las Heras and the Underc0de Foundation agreed to collaborate on information technology, training, and consulting for residents, merchants, small and medium-sized businesses, and others working in the sector.
Las Heras signed an agreement with a technology developers’ foundation to provide training, workshops, tutorials, learning guides, tools, and technology updates to residents, SMEs, businesses, and people working in digital transformation and technological development.
The mutual collaboration agreement between the Municipality of Las Heras and the Underc0de Foundation aimed to promote the knowledge economy and ICT by contributing human talent to technology solutions and projects benefiting residents, SMEs, industries, businesses, professionals, and the municipality itself.
Mayor Daniel Orozco and Danilo Vezzoni, president of the foundation, signed the agreement, which sought to provide tools to residents, entrepreneurs, and merchants in Las Heras developing projects in technology and information systems.
The Underc0de Foundation is a community of technology professionals that provides solutions and projects involving computing, technology, robotics, application and video-game development, training, and digital literacy for the municipality and residents of Las Heras. The foundation also supports SMEs and serves as a talent pipeline for the Strategic Development Coworking program.
The collaboration would produce workshops, tutorials, learning guides, tools, and technology updates, all focused on continuously improving the community through technology. Sebastián Castro, deputy director of Strategic Development, said the municipality had been advancing knowledge-economy and Las Heras ICT initiatives through technology hubs, and emphasized the importance of the agreement with the Underc0de Foundation.
Castro added that the technology work was intended to provide practical solutions for residents, citing an El Borbollón hydroponics project for which Underc0de was developing an application to manage greenhouse variables more effectively.
The Strategic Development department highlighted the broad potential of technology to create a smart city and improve quality of life, particularly by educating and supporting local technology entrepreneurs.
The Underc0de Foundation brings together people working in computing, robotics, artificial intelligence, development, and information security. Its mission includes freely sharing knowledge, exchanging contributions, and helping members strengthen their skills in a collaborative environment.
Foundation members include systems analysts, programmers, web developers, and digital audiovisual professionals whose expertise could support Strategic Development initiatives across the department.
The framework agreement’s general objective was to support the growth of the software and ICT industries and coordinate academic collaboration between the municipality and Underc0de.
Foundation members would also be able to complete professional practice in facilities provided by the municipality, creating mutual value for both organizations.
